Selected Poems II
by: Sri Chinmoy
Nothing else is our birthright
Save and except
Our inner delight
God comes down
From His transcendental Height
To measure my heart
And not
To measure my house.
In our heart garden
Each flower reminds us
Of our meditation-hours.
Every morning
We shall have to make a choice
Either to remain in our mind-sighs
Or in our heart-skies.
Greatness likes to sit.
Goodness likes to stand.
Selflessness likes to serve the world.
While sitting and while standing.
My soul is asking me
Not to be afraid
Of the unknown tomorrow,
For my soul is already there.
Cheerfully and sleeplessly
I must cultivate
The art of oneness-heart.
A child-heart is always eager
To play life’s
Transformation-satisfaction-game
My intense prayers
Soar high,
Very high.
Each sincere prayer
Is a newness-smile
Of my life.
Each deep meditation
Is a soulfulness-song
Of my heart.
I dearly love
My God-worship.
